ABOUT THE ARTIST
Chanelle, is an established, professional artist, born in 1978 and raised in Cape Town, South Africa.
Since her early childhood days she loved drawing and working in colour. She is completely self-taught, and started her full time career in 2005, exhibiting her work in art galleries throughout South Africa. Her work consists of a variety of large contemporary pieces, painted in acrylics and mixed media on blocked canvas.
Throughout her career she focused on various other projects in the art field. She owned a small art gallery during her earlier years, giving it up after the birth of her second child. She created greeting card ranges, completed several art mural projects, presented art workshops and art classes and created a range of adult colouring books through Struik Christian Media Publishers and Creative books for kids through Don Nelson Publishers.
“My philosophy in life is keeping it simple. Less is more. That applies to my work and to the rest of my life. Mostly my art expresses my way of seeing things. If I had to describe my work in one sentence, I would say it is my version of beauty.”
Chanelle is well known for her paintings and her name appears on more than two thousand works of art, proudly displayed in homes and offices locally and overseas.
“I truly feel blessed with all of my success up to now, and strongly believe it is due to faith, listening and following that inner voice, we all so desperately need to hear.''
She continues to produce pieces that have become a pleasure to so many homes.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Dedicating your life to become an Artist is the greatest gift and honour. You not only choose to become an Artist as profession, you literally become it, and it embraces you, fills you and you are not able, or wish to become anything else. We are all born to create something spectacular, and to be able to create so directly on a daily basis fills me with so much joy.
I paint, because this is who I am. I am a creator, and I feel a deep sense of gratitude and honour to continuously perfect my skill.
Being an artist allows you to spend time with your own thoughts and in silence, and that gives you the gift on heighted intuition. Through the process of painting your intuition guides you to explore, risk and create.
Through my work, I wish for the viewer to experience a sense of calm, awe and happiness. I feel honoured and a deep responsibility to create something spectacular for the viewer and future owner.
I am at service and only a vessel through which art flows.
